Buckinghamshire’s finest export As Elephants Are return this week, with the lead and title track from their new EP ‘Crown’. The song was premiered by Clash yesterday:

‘Crown’ rips and roars with a life of its own, the barely contained rage of the guitar riff battling against a soaring vocal line.

The news and release of the EP also coincides with a full UK tour throughout October and November, where they’ll be stopping off in Leeds, Liverpool, and London along the way. The dates are listed below and tickets are here.

The new EP, produced by Andy Savours (Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, My Bloody Valentine) is set for release on 17th November, and marks a confident and triumphant step forward for the young band, who look to build on the groundswell of wonderful support they’ve seen over the past 12 months.

“Delicate and immediate in all the right places…
If this is anything to go by, we’re sure the EP will be an absolute treat”
(Fake DIY, UK)

“’Hand Prints’ is brimming with unabashed indie pop vibes, manifested in anthemic,
guitar-driven melodies and euphoric brass notes”
(Indie Shuffle, US)

“Breakout melancholic UK rock; huge guitar atmospheres fermenting drama, instantly in your head soaring melodies, and just the right amount of incident in the lyric” (Blahblahblahscience, US)

On May 5th, As Elephants Are will follow last October’s release of the “Crystal” single (BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe ‘Next Hype’), with the brand new 4-track “Hand Prints” EP.

With past releases being described as everything from “sinister” (This Is Fake DIY), to “Life affirming” and “Magical” (the 405) to “Wonderfully dreamy” (Time Out London), EP title track ‘Hand Prints’ develops further the band’s ability to write nagging melodies wrapped in barbed wire rhythms. The title track has already racked up plays on BBC Radio 1 from Huw Stephens and Jen & Ally, playlists on XFM and Amazing Radio as well as the band’s first US radio play courtesy of KCRW.

On 31st March 2014 the band completed their first headline UK Tour which culminated in their first proper London headline show at The Sebright Arms. A Summer of festival appearances now beckons with the following shows already announced – and many more to follow:
